About
Our experienced team of landscape designers, horticulturists and installation specialists are dedicated to bringing outdoor spaces to life and specialises in creating gardens that are thoughtful, beautiful and inspiring.
Our Story
Founded in 2000, Pepo Botanic Design is a premium landscape design studio with an emphasis on unique plant choices and sculptural designs. Our creative designers and passionate horticulturists work on gardens of all sizes, from tiny courtyards through to large-scale developments and rural retreats.
Under the leadership of founder Nicola Cameron and construction manager James Perkin, our landscape designers work in close collaboration with our horticulturists and a trusted network of consultants and specialist contractors to design, install and care for gardens throughout every stage of the process, making us one of the more unique garden services in Sydney.
We have worked with many of Sydney’s leading residential architects, interior designers and builders, and enjoy collaborating from the earliest design stages to create gardens that are seamlessly integrated into the homes and lifestyles of our clients. We care deeply about our environmental impact, approaching our work with a focus on conscious design and thoughtful selection of plants, products and materials.
Our Mission
We aspire to cultivate a culture that is positive, creative, caring and forward-thinking.
Our goal is for our team to communicate openly and respectfully, to collaborate and share ideas. We hope that our clients and extended community will be inspired by, and benefit from, our design, horticulture and landscape construction services, as well as the information, knowledge, and expertise we provide, along with the enthusiasm we share.
Individuals and the Collective
We respect everyone as an individual, and just as no two people are the same, the same applies to gardens. We work alongside our clients and their unique styles to create restorative gardens that provide comfort, escape, shelter and beauty.
We see the journey of garden design, installation and care as an ever-evolving one, because a garden is never complete. Collaborating with a collective team of architects, consultants, and skilled contractors inspires us and enhances the bespoke nature of our projects.
Environmental Impact
We constantly strive to make better choices for our local environment and beyond. We are proud that our gardens are diverse, connecting people to their outdoor environment, educating and providing a great deal of enjoyment.
We are always conscious that every step of the garden creation process can be assessed for its environmental impact. We have a responsibility to review these impacts, inform our clients, and make positive choices to help preserve our environment for the future.
Our Team
We believe in caring for our team, just as they care for our clients’ gardens. We invest in professional development, building strong relationships and promoting staff happiness and wellness, with benefits including our beloved office coffee machine and yoga classes paid for by the company. At the end of the day, we are here to design, build, and care for beautiful gardens, and we believe that’s a good day!
Giving Back
We are proud to support a young boy whose family relies on The Smith Family, providing him with opportunities he would not have had otherwise.
We celebrate the life of Archie Perkin through our support of not-for-profit organisation, Hearts 4 Arch, which increases awareness for, and contributes to, the cardiac unit of the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
In addition to the ongoing support of these two causes, our team selects a different charity to support each Christmas, with past recipients including Shake It Up Australia, Plates for Mates and Bush Heritage.
